Gerald Gruber, Chief Commercial Officer at bunq, will speak about digital banking during Amsterdam Fintech Week.
Gerald is responsible for new business development, international expansion and strategic partnerships. He joined bunq’s senior management team in September, 2019 and has played a pivotal role in bunq’s rapid expansion across the European Union and beyond. During his time at bunq, Gerald greatly enriched the user experience by forging groundbreaking partnerships, such as with Paysafecash, Currencycloud and dozens of others. Much like bunq itself, Gerald’s efforts consistently break barriers, open new markets and make innovation available to more and more people every day.
Prior to joining bunq, Gerald was the General Manager of Mastercard’s Austrian branch, where he determined market entry strategies, product and service innovations, managed organizational transformation and built local and international partnerships.
Before stepping into the world of Finance, Gerald worked at Microsoft where he served on the Austrian management board and led organizational transformation, strategy definition and service delivery. Additionally, Gerald has about 10 years of consulting experience under his belt, working for companies the likes of BCG and Accenture.
As an influential speaker at finance, banking and innovation events, Gerald is widely considered an industry expert on payment-, leadership- and technology-related topics. Committed to building the world’s first full-service neobank, Gerald is poised to contribute to a global and inclusive digital economy. Gerald has a Master’s degree in computer science from Graz University of Technology as well as an MBA from London Business School.
